- successfully delegate work assignments to co-workers/peers for the purpose of maintaining a positive work environment

- recognize when behavior and communication is creating a potentially hostile situation

- demonstrate techniques for redirecting and refocusing hostile situations

- demonstrate strategies for creating a positive teamwork environment

- identify how personal experience, culture, and values influence work and social communication

Pat Pierce, Ph.D, ARNP, FAAN, has a Doctorate in Health Policy and is an advanced practice family nurse practitioner.  She has initiated nationally recognized programs for medically fragile and chronically ill children and their families.  She has many years in executive health care positions and nursing education.  She is widely published in health care systems, critical thinking, and child health.
